On occasion I have mentioned that if you slack off when it comes to marketing your website - have it be with Social Networking, Social Bookmarking, Blogging, or just talking to people offline, you could end up losing your space that you already established on the search engines. While this is true, it does not happen over night. Your visitors might start dwindling down once you stop marketing - but most likely, it won't wipe you off the search engines right away. However, it still is important that you try to stay consistent in your moves. So how much is too much, and how little is not enough? When it comes to something like Blogging, you should be placing at least 1 blog every 1-3 days on your website.

Especially important if you have a blog like we do on our site, one that is attached to the site rather than a separate entity. The quality along with the quantity of words is important as well. Many people think that by using PLR content, you can get away with it when it comes to the search engines. Frankly, we have done some tests. We did a blog with quality content - quality written, not overrun with ads and hyper links. And we did a blog with less than stellar content, tons of hyper links and Google ads.

Which one do YOU think got the better results? It was the quality site of course! For Social Bookmarking or Social Networking, I honestly don't think there is a "too much" additive here. Of course if you spam the heck out of your profile, people might be less likely to read it. Which again, is why quality is so important. Yes, you want to grab people's attention. But, you don't want to outright spam them. Usually for our Social Networking accounts, I try to do 1-5 posts a day. You can go for up to a dozen, just try not to do it every 30 seconds! Social Bookmarking is the same way. Usually there is no wrong or right way of going about this.

However, if you are posting the same stuff on the same accounts all day long, you might be caught with a big red X on your forehead. For Social Bookmarking, this can be done every month - 1-3 times a month. It should also contain a quality "line" telling the person what you are offering, along with your keywords, URL, anchor and so on and so forth. Article Marketing is nice, this can be done virtually as much as you want. The more you do it, the better the results for your keyword. Some people do 100 articles per month whereas others do 1. Kristi Ambrose Marketing & Content Solutions started out JUST on Article Marketing alone, so we have a lot of knowledge about this tactic.

More is better in this instance. Keywords are also important as well as quality content. Your content should have about 450 words (especially if you plan on distributing it). The same goes for keywords that are similar. If you have keywords like:

Cloth Dog Leashes

Leather Dog leashes

Diamond Dog Leashes

You would obviously not be able to use each keyword 3 times because it has the ending "dog leashes". If you would use those 3 keywords 3 times, virtually you are using "dog leashes" a total of 9 times. Big no-no in this distribution realm! If you do a 1% to 4% ratio per keyword, you should be fine when it comes to Google and the other engines. But, more importantly, if you are distributing this content, it cannot be saturated with the same keyword over and over again or it won't get accepted at a lot of sites. This is considered keyword spamming!

Really, there are quite a lot of rules when it comes to Article Marketing tactics unlike the other tactics mentioned on this site and this blog. But, if you do it correctly it can end up paying off in the end. If you ever have any questions about how to optimize your Articles better to allow for more distribution, don't hesitate to ask us!
