What Are Some Of The Web Presence Techniques I Can Use?
When it comes to ANY website online you absolutely MUST have web presence. Web presence known to some of you as the Internet Footprint or Web Influence, which is defined as being the impact an individual, business, organization or corporation has on the World Wide Web and, practicably, the traceable residue that it leaves behind through this interaction. When it comes to the "imprint" it can be used for many different facets, but when it comes to your website it's all about being "known".
See you can have the best design, the best products, and
the best customer service, but if no one even knows you exist, chances
are you will never make a sale. You might have a few sporadic visits
here and there, but nothing to really get excited about. In order to
achieve web presence, there are a few different things you can do, and
these are the things that we will be talking about! First we should
talk a little bit about SERPs.
A SERP is a powerful little facet of your website. Essentially, if you get enough Articles out there, Google and the other engines will start taking note of your keywords associated with your URL. These "notes" will start to accumulate over time. If you get enough pieces of content out there on the WWW that are associated with your URL and keywords, this will results in SERPs. I'm sure everyone knows what a SERP is, but the acronym just may not sound very familiar to you. Fundamentally a SERP is a "notch" up in the placement of your URL on the engines.
The more
content and articles, the higher up your notch is placed. The point of Article Marketing is to get your notch (or URL) on the first few pages
of the Search Engines online. Most consumers assume that if a company
or business is on the first page of the engines, it MUST be a good site
to go with.
You will find that more people in the Auto business on the first page are getting more sales and visitors than your site is on the third page. I know it doesn't make much sensibility to us business owners, but that is just the way these people see it! Let's take a look at a few of these tactics you can use to get ranks, placement and SERPs among other things.
- Article Marketing: This has been and
will continue to be one of the most popular tactics because it's easy,
it's cheap and it works! When it comes to ANY business doing Article
Marketing, it's really important that you do get a quality writer. It's
been said before that Google and the other Engines will not pick up
just any content on the web and index it.
This content must make sense, it must be relevant to your website or URL, and it must be well-written. Not everyone IS a writer, and this is okay! That is why businesses like us exist and continue to exist over time. The second thing with Article Marketing that you want to make sure you look out for, is to find a writer or a business that can allow you to have a resource box.
This is going to be even more important than the quality
of the content because without the resource box (which is the whole
point to this) you have nothing. A resource box will include the
Authors name, body content, text link code, HTML link code and a URL
among other things.
This is ultimately going to produce SERPs (Search Engine Result Pages) and backlinks (or link backs) to your page. This is one of the more popular services because you not only receive better placement, but link backs as well. Its like killing two birds with one stone. This is also one of the more "white hat" techniques available.
- Content Creation: In the same way that Article Marketing is using keywords to bring search engines to index the content, blogging and other content pieces are going to bring the engines TO your website. Content creation is a superb way to not only get indexed and have Engines crawl or "spider" your websites, but it's also going to be a superb way to bring in customers - new and old. People want to hear what you have to say about your business or website or product online. They want to know how it can better their lives.
No one ever bought a klipenherger because chances are they have no idea what this is, what it is used for
and how it can better your life. However, with a little content, an
explanation of what it is and why someone needs it, I can almost
guarantee that with the right guidance they would be selling this
product like hot cakes.
Personally, I suggest a little Content Creation plus Article Marketing. This way you can be positive that you are using two of the most popular ways to get your website out there as much as you can. Content Creation doesn't just include blogs.
It can include
any piece of content that can be Search Engine Optimized such as sales
letters, website content in the About Us Wikipedia can help you raise your placement. Wiki is nice because it already has such a high page rank 8/10, so when you place content on Wikipedia about your site you can "piggy back" off of
their rank.
Piggybacking is almost like borrow rank off of another site. This is also another reason why it's important to use some high ranking directories when it comes to Article Marketing as well. It's going to BOOST your rank as well. I just mainly point out blogs because these are going to be a great way to wrangle in your customers with what you are selling. section, product explanations and descriptions, even
- Search Engine Optimization: When it comes to SEO its utterly important that you optimize your website. This can mean making search engine friendly and user-friendly. Optimizing a website primarily involves editing its content and HTML and related coding to increase both its relevancy to particular keywords and to remove barriers to the indexing activities of search engines. This is a simple one, especially if you have a web designer or developer because it's going to take a few minutes to Optimize your website to make sure that it really is user and search engine friendly.
Remember, if you aren't receiving as much sales and traffic as you would like, and you are doing Article Marketing and Content Creation (which is VERY rare) it might be that your page just needs tweaked a little bit! Please also make sure that you include a keyword tag on your coding. A lot of flash sites don't allow this, and for this specific reason I don't use flash nor do I suggest other people do. Yes, flash websites do bring a certain uniqueness to a website, but frankly I would rather make sure I can be seen by the engines!
As far as being more well-known you can also check out options like Social Bookmarking and Social Network likes like Myspace and Facebook. One of the biggest things I will suggest you stay away from are these 10,000 visits for $10 websites online. I realize everyone is online for a reason and that most people are online TO make money. So I can understand why these sites offer what they do, but when it comes down to it, their offers are not real.
Most of the time it's going to be fake traffic, bot traffic, or traffic that is really NOT interested in what your website is about! This is going to be like taking your $10 and lighting a match underneath it. It has no worth, and really in the end all it's going to do is cost you an upgrade on your hosting account, lost money and no sales. Do not do this!
